Not for everyone, nothing showing here......I refuse to jump on that roundabout again, If I need to navigate I'll use Android auto.

Guys,

Need your help please. After successfully downloading and installing the latest sync update, I was prompted to update my maps (currently on F8)

I’ve downloaded and extracted as per instructions and reading the installation instructions it says I should have a DONTINDX.MSA file along with the autoinstall.lst and the syncmyride folder (it has 15 files inside) however I’m missing the MSA file.

I’ve downloaded it twice now and the same thing is occurring, am I missing something? I thought it was me because I’m using a 64gb SDXC card in a USB adapter to do the install in the car (as I don’t have a big enough USB stick) but it can’t be that as I’ve checked before transferring it from the PC and it’s not there.

Any help appreciated.

It’s just an empty file that tells sync not to try and index the usb

You should just be able to create a blank file of that name

If it’s not there it shouldn’t really matter anyway afaik

I’ll give it a go first without creating the file. Won’t be doing it tonight now. Don’t fancy sitting in the car for up to 2hrs

I suspect the printed instructions are well out of date, it is best the follow the on-screen prompts. The DONTINDX.MSA file is not included or required. Remember it could takes hours so go for a long drive where you can pull over for a key cycle if prompted. I think I disrupted mine by following the printed instructions and not the screen which resulted in an extended install!

Thanks for the advice.

I should have done it when I cleaned the car. I could have left the engine running whilst I was busying myself.
