The good gents at OMC Ford body shop had a look at my Puma yesterday. They were a bit perplexed as to how the paint could have been damaged that way.

Their opinion is that something has been spilt on the car. I certainly don't have chemicals that would do that sort of damage. Car has been with me from new apart from the 10 days it spent with the dealers having its sill mouldings painted and replaced.

Regardless of cause or fault they are going to put a paint claim in with Ford to see if it can be repainted under warranty. 🤞🤞🤞

I’d lay money on the paint shop laying alcohol/solvent based rags on there whilst doing other things.

Good news, but then I know you (and most of us) would have accepted nothing less!

Just given mine it’s first proper clean today and noticed a few things.

Firstly there’s a blob of paint that has formed just under the offside rear door handle. I thought it was a water droplet until it wouldn’t wipe off. How it got passed I’ll never know.

Secondly there’s a chip out of the near side rear arch. Touch up should sort it. I thought it was tar until I tried to remove it.

Lastly there’s a 6” scratch or crack on the outside of my rear window. Deep enough to feel with my nail. Hopefully it’s a scratch and not a crack.

Dealer informed. Should be fun :(

Well I got a reply pretty quick. Service manager to call be to book it in. The email seemed sympathetic to my issues.
