You may have 'Active braking' turned off in the settings.
My wife still won't stand in the road so that I can test the pedestrian detection....

I have had mine activate numerous times when cars in front are turning left and a vehicle is on the opposite side of the road, this has caused my car brakes to activate and has nearly caused the car behind to rear end me. It came as a bit of a shock the first time it happened .

There a nice section about the features and settings in Pre-Collision Assist in the Puma Owners Manual. >> viewtopic.php?f=11&t=513 <<

Just had my first false warning from this system, driving on a completely empty road but with a line of trees either side and some sunshine filtering through. I don't have adaptive cruise control, so it must be a confused camera acting up. At least it didn't brake on me, must go out now and check what the default settings are.
