Agreed....👍

There has to be a reason why these remain live.

I've checked the socket again today with the dash cam plugged in. A visit to the supermarket and on returning to the car and the dash cam was still on but I forgot to time how long we were away from the car. Back home I checked again after 45 minutes and it was off so the socket is ignition controlled. Maybe that 30minutes mentioned in the manual is not set in stone. I'm not a fan of the Rombatt and have my reservations about it. If a dash cam or something similar were left on overnight or longer I think the car may not start. If this was to happen a number of times this battery may not have the longevity of say a Varta or similar. Only my thoughts.

Recently I've been getting more deep sleep notices than previously. I'm thinking the dash cam being on for 30 minutes or more each time the engine is switched off could be the cause. My dash cam, an Aguri DX 2000, has a two inch screen which shows a colour picture, 1080p. This must be draining the 12v battery for 30 minutes + hence the deep sleep warnings. There's a setting to turn off the screen and show mph only. I'll try that next. This unit is also a radar/speed cam detector and is accurate. When the weather permits I will hardwire the dash cam to fuse number 2 in the under dash fuse box. This fuse covers the parking assist control module. I'm hoping this has a different shut down sequence to fuse 83. Has anyone with their dash cam wired to fuse 2 noticed if it switches off after the car is locked.

I can't see it. Assuming the cam is running at 25W (which it almost certainly isn't - it would get quite warm), then over 30 minutes that is a capacity used of 1 Amp/hour. Assuming your battery is, say, 60 A/h, then 1 A/h is negligible.

@Rizmo - Mines in Fuse 2, (ignition controlled) so obviously shutdowns within seconds. Good enough for me and never had any signs of deep sleep issues.

'Deep Sleep' is an issue on it's own. So, I would be wary about blaming it on the camera.
