ignition controlled fuses
I need some advice regarding fuses. The cigar lighter socket is fuse number 83 and is the one I use for the dash cam that is until I hardwire it when the weather improves. At the end of each journey the socket stays live even after 30 minutes or more which I find strange as I thought this fuse was ignition controlled. As a check I tried a usb adaptor which has a small led and still got the same result. It appears that anything plugged into this socket stays live which is not good if the car is left over the weekend or a longer period. Has anybody on the forum an idea why this should be.

I've read the Owners Manual, (Auxiliary Power Points) and my take on it is, what you are experiencing is normal operation.
I could be totally wrong though.

Interesting, I wonder what the reasoning is?
2020 Puma ST-Line X Vignale 1.0L Ecoboost 125PS 7 Speed Auto - Black
The online manual says they should cut off after 30 minutes?
“ You can use the power point for up to 30 minutes after you switch the ignition off.”
Though on the same page it says “ Do not leave devices plugged in overnight or when you park your vehicle for extended periods.”
All a bit odd.

Thanks to Rizmo for bringing this to the attention of the forum, I've just done my good deed of the day and saved the guy at work in his PUMA.
His dash cam was still on after 30mins.

I checked this on my Puma this morning
The 12v socket was dead when I opened the car. It came to life when I turned on the ignition and stayed on when I turned off the ignition.
I then went back about 35 minutes later and the socket was dead again. So, for me at least, it's working as per the manual. i.e. only stays live for about 30 minutes after ignition is switched off.
(Only thing I can't be sure of is what would of happened if I'd left something plugged in to the 12v supply for the 35 minutes I waited)
USB also seemed to be dead until I turned the ignition on, but didn't do a proper test on that side of things.
