No clunking from the handbrake especially since I park it in the garage in gear. Just the disc noise as though they are corroded but nothing visible, worse when first set off then quietens a little but still can be heard over the engine when pulling up.
Guess it is the pad material if you guys are having similar noise, hopefully it disappears soon after a few miles.

Light I think and more noticeable when driving slow, there has been a lot of salt on the roads and it hasn’t been washed this week so wondering if a clean might help, not had the issue before but could be down to design. It is annoying though.

Yup, similar here. I am parked on the drive, near the sea. It's not just the Puma, it's any car. A few micrometres of rust build on the discs, and as you move off this collects on the pads, which gives that characteristic 'shhhhhhhhhhhh' noise as you brake at first. Eventually it will need new discs.

I don't apply the handbrake to avoid sticking, just leave it in Park (or in gear if it was manual).

Not had it before on cars unless I have washed it and not took it for a spin to dry the brakes, I will keep an eye on it as I have a week off shortly and planning some trips out to safe outdoor places, if it doesn’t get any better the dealer will be getting a visit and they can replace discs/ pads as required under wrty since it has only done 900 miles.

bramcl wrote: Mon Jan 11, 2021 1:47 pm Good afternoon - just wondering if anyone has experienced a noticeable "sshhhhing" sound from brakes when applied at low speed, for example pulling into driveway. Appears to be becoming more and more obvious, and now wondering whether I'm hearing noises at other speeds, or just imagination.

Sounds similar to when brake pads require replacement, but just covered over 4k, since purchasing new in Sept. Whether related or not, I sometimes hear a clunk when disengaging handbrake (and when it occurred this morning it was not frozen, circa 7 deg).

There was a couple of flooded sections of road prior to Christmas - maybe grit ?

Thanks in advance.
Brad.
Did you get this sorted, my car has started doing it after 900 miles and being used every day this week. It is more noticeable at slower speeds but will be there all of the time. If I drive slowly and pull the handbrake on it sounds horrendous so most of the noise is coming from the rear but still some noise from the front.
Given the brakes a good wash ( any salt build up )then a drive to dry them. Will see if that has improved anything.
Could strip and clean etc but that isn’t my job at this mileage.
Never had this on any car even with worn discs
