Hi all

Just wondering if anyone has got anywhere with the dash rattle ?

Picked my St Line up at the end of September and it’s had a rattle from the dash since ever since!

Too it to the local dealer after about 4 weeks of ownership but they “couldn’t fault it”

It is now really starting to annoy me and getting worse but I’m a little reluctant to take it back just for a rattle considering what is going on in the word at the minute

I have videoed the rattle and tried to upload it onto here but it wouldn’t let me ?

Thanks

Whereabouts is the noise pal? I know it's not so straight forward.

If it's passenger side then it could be the passenger airbag bracket. I'm sure someone on here had this resolved.

Failing that I think the dash is two piece, in that there's a lip between the two sections, right along the middle.

Try some little bits of folded card pushed into this seam. If you can absolutely pin point it there's more chance of a dealer fix.

After lockdown 1 I took mine in. A Ford Tech nipped it round the block and you guessed it, it didn't make a sound.....

Mine seems to be coming from the passenger air vent on the top of the dash
St line x 1st edition, it has nearly everything

Can you get a passenger to push down on the top of the dash when it's rattling? If it's there try placing a piece of card between the two sections like I said. If it stops then it's the two sections of dashboard vibrating against each other.

**Can anyone with access to Ford Ecat post an exploded pic showing the dash components/construction please**

My Puma is in tomorrow to get it sorted but I'm not convinced it will be. I'll let you know how I get on

Out of curiosity, it is possible for someone to record and upload it? Could help future PUMA owners.

Apologies for late response, dash rattle fixed. They put it down to loose passenger airbag bracket as well as air con pipes rubbing on engine block. Car lovely to drive now, the only thing is yesterday was the first day I have had the bonnet up since to top up windscreen fluid and now the bonnet wont close. the latch doesn't work. It's one thing after another with this bloody car.

Can you see the latch mechanism working if someone operates the lever in the car?
