I measure the charge level by how hard the car regens especially in sport mode when coasting.

By update you mean reflash? It probably could but you would need the module software and security keys from Ford. Not something they tend to give out willy-nilly.

My setup is to use a laptop and i purchased OBDLink EX OBD-II / EOBD Car Diagnostic Interface (USB) designed for ForScan. I the just downloaded forscan and found some videos on youtube as to how to backup and check or modify settings.

Some useful links below.

My cable turned up today and I managed to program the missing surround sound.
I should have backed up the modules as advised in the links above especially as Forscan advised my battery voltage was 11.5v. I'll back them up when I next connect.

I did try and program the auto locking in the BCM which said was successful but no option in the cluster to switch on/off. I've not driven the car to test if it works as the battery is now on charge, maybe I need to look in the IPC and program it in there to activate the locking menu, does anyone know?

There are various settings that influence the auto-lock behavior: One setting affects only the actual status of auto-lock: activated or deactivated and another setting controls whether "auto-lock" is displayed in the board computer menu.
The latter must be set in the IPC module-settings.

Thanks for this, I did think after I'd finished that the IPC might need to be programmed as well.
I'll take another look once the battery has charged up.

Try https://www.motorcraftservice.com/AsBuilt as you can download the default ASBUILT data from there.

@robgee better bring your cable to a social in the near future, I'm sure there will be a few members wanting mods ;)
