Good afternoon.

After taking delivery of a new white ST line puma and after about a week I gave the car its first wash and detail.
Very concerned and disapointed with the poor quality of wheel arch trim fit and also poor painting of the same.also the wherl arch trim in several places is loose.

Not keen to give give a brand new car over to have it pulled apart and repainted.

Attached are a few photos

Let me know your thoughts

Hiya.

That's not good. Really needs to go back. Poor QC in my opinion. I have a frozen white puma. The paint coverage on the inside of your doors is similar to mine. It's almost like the robots were not programmed to paint fully near the edges. I can live with that

The outside flaking paint and poor fitting is not right. There is a recall for the painted trim in certain builds, more to do with alignment and rubbing I think.

Hope everything else is ok.

When I was washing her puma the other day I noticed the bonnet gap was a few millimetres more on the drivers side than the passengers. Also the side body skirts looked a poor fit on both sides at the rear.

So, looks like I'm now in the paint fail club. Paint is starting to chip away at the bottom of the door edge mouldings. Both sides..... So much for watercolours eh...

Update
Having been given a bit of a run-around by the supplying dealer implying i had the opportunity at the handover to point these issues out and its the first car in years that they have had issues with! They were not very helpful at all.

Well after that I decided to contact Ford credit and after they saw the photos agreed with the issues and have agreed to take the car back and refund my deposit.

I obviously won't be going back to Ford Cupar based on their poor customer support.

A great car in all respects but let down by poor build quality.

Guess I will be going back to Audi.

Sorry to hear that. They'll be others on here wishing that giving the car back was as easy a process as you had.

What's next? SQ3? 😁

Only reason we bought the Puma was due to the rust under her Audi A1. We had it from new and only had 16000 miles on it. They had sent a video for the mot. I couldn't believe the amount of rust underneath the car.. Seen the puma and the rest is history lol
