Wouldn't surprise me if there are issues at FORD
Mine is currently downloading, (4U5T-14G422-BAG) F11 maps via WiFi as and when at home. Via the website it says I have a map update, so I go to view it and then says I'm all up-to-date
Luckily I downloaded the update, (Map_23884309230_Update.zip) a few days ago if I need it.
Sync software update !!!

I think I have a similar problem. The car is connected to my home wifi. Activate the sync update option, and am informed that everything is up to date, but map version is shown as F10.sinlessUK wrote: ↑Thu Aug 11, 2022 1:24 pm Wouldn't surprise me if there are issues at FORD

Any advice for a technophobe?

What version of SYNC are you running ? To be offered F11 maps you need to be running the latest SYNC.Wowzz wrote: ↑Fri Aug 12, 2022 9:40 amI think I have a similar problem. What do you see when you go via the internet?
Enter your Ford VIN and to check for updates >> https://secure.ford.co.uk/owner/resourc ... h/update#/ <<

Thanks - it shows that i have new software available. Gives me the option to download on to my tablet, but how do I then transfer from the tablet to the car, as there is no usb outlet on my tablet.sinlessUK wrote: ↑Fri Aug 12, 2022 10:59 amWhat version of SYNC are you running ? And yes, it also tells me that I need to update to the latest sync, but gives me no information as to how I do that.

Or, get a family member with a computer to download it onto a memory stick for you.

A world of caution. Reguardless of weather you intend to try OTA or a USB.
Download a copy of F11 maps on your PC keep safe and do not delete.
If you choose to try OTA whilst remembing you must have Sync updated to 3.4-22110 in order to allow maps to download.
It is entirely possible for the OTA downloads (over the air) to get stuck and refuse to complete.
Whilst this may not sound to bad, it is possible for you system to show F11 maps installed when it isn't and worse Ford's download Webb page can also believe your vehicle has been uploaded and so not allow you access to the file on the net.
My OTA did exactly that, it stalled. So I finish the installation using the USB method.
You will know for certain you have the full maps F11 installed by using automatic updates and checking for lastest updates. It will return a date/time stamp to confirm if it is.
If you do try OTA, then make sure your connection is stable with no drop outs, leave your Sync system on (don't press the off button) it will power down....and don't try OTA if your car suffers the 'conserve battery' shut down issue (yes that old issue) as it will shut everything down including your WiFi
connection.

My car is doing the updates OTA. The only difference I have noticed this time, is that each portion of the map update is "downloaded", then it is being "installed" and confirmed with an update symbol. It then starts its next download. Previously, I have only seen it try to download everything in one go.
So far, so good. There is a new road that has just built not 500 yards away from me and its on the new map, even though it hasn't finished all of its updates.

Just seems a bit last century. Who uses memory sticks anymore ? Haven't Ford heard of the Cloud ?
I have a 2022 car, that uses technology that is 10 years out of date !

Most people who own a computer use USB sticks for various functions. Why you would think them last century, I have no idea.
If you read the rest of the thread, some of us are updating OTA using WiFi. I'm not sure where you get the idea that your car is 10 years out of date.
the advice was being given to someone with a particular problem as an alternative.
