Smoothest update I've had in 5 years of Ford Sync ownership !!!!!
Oh my.... Have they finally cracked it? Notice any differences in settings etc?

Anyone been able to connect to home WiFi and check for updates to see if the car detect it.
Really late reply but the update is available through WiFi connection, installation took a while as my router isn't best situated for on the drive updates.

That's good, I thought Ford had done away with WiFi on Sync...Apparently not. I'll just leave mine to do it's own thing when it wants with the maps, once they sort out the xml upload..

I have updated the car to F12 maps and an xml file was created. I'm now trying to upload the file to the Ford website but have encountered a problem.

I have located the xml file after clicking on the "Browse for log file" tab but after opening it, all I'm getting is a spinning circle where the green tick would be if it had worked ok. I've tried to upload it several times but always get the spinning circle.

I see that others have had trouble uploading the file but it seems they are getting a file error message whereas I don't.

I used the Ford Live Chat who suggested I delete browsing history and cookies, which I have, but it made no difference.

Has anyone else experienced this?

The xml file title should contain your full vin number. Check that first. If it's ok try again in a few days. If not an email to Ford CRC is another possibility explaining your issue.

Hi Rizmo, thanks very much for your reply.

The vin on the file is indeed correct, I've not had any previous upload problems before and it normally goes on instantly so will give it another go in a couple of days time as you suggest.

Thanks again.

I've tried to upload the xml file again today but still have the spinning circle.

I've emailed Ford CRC explaining the problem but have just had a reply with the unsatisfactory suggestion of getting in touch with my dealer to sort it.

I think I'm going to have to do the update again by deleting the xml file off the stick, emptying the waste bin and taking it from there. I assume I can do this and a new xml file will be created.

Hi Stevep999, Thanks for this suggestion.

I found a link to the Interrogator Tool on an older thread. I tried this in the car and it did create a new xml file but am still getting a spinning circle when trying to upload. There must be something wrong with the map update on my car as that is now 2 separate xml's that don't work even though the car is showing F12 maps version on the Sync screen.

I think I'll do the whole update again and see how it goes.

Hi Iainrr55, Thanks for this but I'm a bit of a technophobe so will try the update again.
