Saved me last week...On the M54, Waze on AA told me that there was debris on the road ahead. I was already slowing when the truck in front suddenly swerved around a large tyre in the road. I didn't see it until the last minute, but thanks to the warning there wasn't any real drama. There is no way the Sync SatNav would have reported it.

That’s the whole point of a connected car. I’ve had my Puma tell me about traffic jams ahead as well as accidents and roadworks l. I also get regular warnings through the sat nav about speed cameras.

It will never be 100% but it’s much better than having nothing.

I bet this will end up resulting in MEM_ERR01
Just tried map update. MEM_ERR01 again.

@Puma1959 and Sparks - It's on my USB stick ready to fail. I've opened a case with FORD CRC who want me to get it booked in with a dealer and as a good will gesture will foot the cost, (Maps aren't apparently covered under warranty). They also said it's a known issue.

Decisions, decisions :!:

Don't bother with the 8.6gb it is a known issue. The website will continue to suggest you need a map update. If you're system confirms F10 is installed then take no action. It will correct its self by year end or just inside 2022 when Map's F11 are released.
I spoke to Fords technical and asked that they put a warning notice on their site. But that fell on deaf ears, possibly because they don't like to advertise they've got it wrong.

Oh Yeah!

Thanks Rays1 - Echo the known issue confirmed by FORD CRC as of 07/10/21. Think I'll wait till F11 is released rather than inherit dirty foot prints, scuffed sills and fingers prints all over the Sync Screen.

Just out of interest, do you know what may have caused this issue? For instance did you interrupt a map update before it completed etc. The last F10 map update took a good two hours, 30 minutes. I have always been careful to allow all USB updates to fully complete and I have never had an issue. Being retired helps as I have the time :D
