What does this mean on headlamps?

Can anyone tell me what the A to the right of the headlamp icon means?

I've got the green light that comes on when the headlights come on, but no "A" even though my lights are on Auto?

I think it’s just the symbol for the auto headlights, I think I had the same on my mk8 fiesta

As Steve says it's the headlight auto dip function.

Part of the driver assist package I think.

If your main beam is on and the car detects an oncoming car the headlights will automatically switch to dipped beam, and back again when clear ahead.

You can cycle this function on and off by pushing the left stalk. That simbol will not show when autodip is off.

What does this mean on headlamps?
