Brake disc scoring
For brakes, I always follow EBC guidelines:

Bunch of 60-10mph hard controlled decelerations in close succession. Try that and report back.

Will try next time out, booked in to dealer in a couple of weeks. Done approx 450 miles this week and they haven’t improved, some pitting so guessing brake pad/ disc poor quality. Never had this before on any car

Mine's in to get checked soon. The dealership say it's since they stopped using asbestos but I'm not convinced. At least they will check them and if I do have any future issues it's noted.
Now I've got the dreaded battery message as well.

I'd rather the brakes and other friction parts didn't contain asbestos. It's always sad to read of yet another retired mechanic who has succumbed to Mesothelioma.
If all braking systems were as bad you'd see rotten discs on all cars, you don't. Even our fronts are unblemished which leads me to believe Ford have a sub standard rear brake set up.
There's just not enough rear brake applied when using the foot brake to deglaze the pad and clean the disc.

My rear discs are perfect after 4.5k since dealer replaced both discs and pads. So I suspect it was a pad/disc material quality issue.
