Tyre pressure sensors.

Hi. First time poster.

Has anybody encountered issues with the tyre pressure wheel sensors?
I have a January 2020 St Line X first edition and up until two weeks ago everything has worked fine. However on my first long trip for a couple of months, after about 30 miles the dashboard display alerted me that the offside rear tyre was low at 1.9bar, even though it said that the nearside rear was at the same pressure and that was fine. On returning home, I checked and pumped up all tyres as necessary to the recommended pressure (using a digital tyre pump, which was then checked with a Michelin digital tyre pressure gauge), and yet the car is still telling me that the tyres are low.

Just drive it. Take a few miles to show correct PSI. That's what I've been 5old.

Have you driven the car since adjusting the pressures? The readings in the car won't always update until you drive a short distance.
Welcome to the forum. :)

Hi 77KJG. If you brave enough you could try the reset as shown in the Manual. https://www.fordservicecontent.com/Ford ... Market=GBR

I drove it to work and back this morning, a distance of about 24 miles, but no change.

Yes, I went to work and back in it, but no change. I don't know if the car is supposed to sense when you are carrying extra weight (so thus should have more air in the tyres) but there's no extra stuff in the car to the usual coats I've been carrying round for work since I bought the car.

Hmm, as a confirmed technofobe, I'm always a bit reluctant to tackle jobs unless there's someone I can call to bail me out when I mess up! But I'll give it a look and see whether my none skills can manage it! Thanks.

The tyre pressure read out on your vehicle should be taken as a guide only and as such any warnings should be investigated.
Always manually check your tyre pressures with an accurate pressure quage. (Weekly if possible)
If tyres pressures need to be physically adjusted, then having done so you must then reset the vehicle by going through the settings menu. Do remember wheel rotation (engine running) activates the sender units on each wheel. Yes correct, the weight (and speed) of vehicle has an impact on how you must adjust tyre pressures to suit. check the manual.

So.
When tyres are cold.
Physically adjust/inflate your tyres. Per the manual or label on the drivers door jam.
Re set the pressures through the settings menu in your vehicle. (Every time you make any changes)
Drive your car.

Thanks Rays1. A classic case of RTFM on my part! In my defence, this is the first car I've ever had fitted with tyre pressure sensors.

What's it got to do with Real-Time Flow Measurement?🤔 ;)
