Having snapped off the nearside boot cover hook, from the tailgate, and purchased a replacement, I cannot see how to remove the plastic, to allow access to screw in the new hook.
Hook £8, quote to fix from local Ford dealer £185.
I don't want to snap any of the plastic pieces whilst attempting to gain access.
All any suggestions appreciated.

Not sure how you remove the plastic, but I would ask the BBC if they would be interested in having the dealer who quoted £185 to fix it on their 'Rogue Traders' show.

Name and shame them.

(p s. mine fell apart after a coyple of weeks and all the bits clipped back together again, but it took me a while to work out how it all went back together. It's a very odd system and the clips are so flimsy that it's not really fit for purpose. If you try to put too much in the boot, the whole thing falls to pieces. That said, I do like ir 99% of the time - if only it was a bit sturdier.)

Hi any chance of a photo please! Rather the underside of the item (new hook) than just the hook itself.
I have had a look at my Puma and it is fairly obvious to me that the surrounding plastic trim needs to be removed. There are two screws hidden inside the hand recess areas that would first need to be removed. Then the trim would need to be carefully prised off using trim removal tools. (So easy to break the plastic retaining clips and or damage the trim during removal) (even harder to re fit).
Believe me if it is anything like removing the boot trim on my Focus Mk3, (yes I have had the pleasure) it is not a quick and easy job. So I can understand the dealership quote. It is the time it will take.
I suspect once the trim has been removed fitting the new hook is simple. But would like to see a picture of the hook first please.

Rays1, thanks for response. Went to a local mechanic, who took approx 3 mins to remove all trim. New hook had metal screw ( original plastic and broken off in thread) so drilled out old, fixed new, job done. Replacing plastic about a 10 min job; fiddly and fragile.

That's good news Ruth. So much for it being a long job.
But definitely a fiddly one. I have had to remove plastic trim in the past and something usually breaks off 🤭. Worth remembering if I ever have the same problem 👍

I have a rattle on the rear door when driving. Checked the rear shelf and plastic surround and it would appear that it is all loose on the near side. Does any one know how this trim fits to the rear door? Is it possible to tighten this trim ? or is it yet another trip to the dealers

If your car is under warranty then I wouldn't touch it with a barge pole. Wait until (if you can live with it) your car is due a service and ask they look at it then.
On all Ford cars and possibly like many other manufacturers, trim is usually held in place by a couple of hidden screws (but not always) and a whole series of plastic and metal spring clips. There are trim removal trim tools available to buy. But unless you've tried removing trim panels before (in fact even if you haven't) I guarantee you will break or losse a clip or worse crack or damage the trim. Plus when refitting plastic trim, it usually has a habit of not going back just how you want it. If out of of warranty then yes well just go for it, but expect to purchase new clips at the very least to ensure a good and rattle free fit.
Perhaps worth checking out u-tube you never know someone may have done video for the Puma by now, but then may be not, it is so new. Do be careful however as some trims have hidden tabs and can only be released in a certain way/direction.

Your not the only one with this annoying rattle. I'm taking Rays1 advice and let FORD do it when it goes in for it's first service.
