The eco boost engine has been around for years in various models/ sizes/ countries . I wonder if they need to be activated by the dealer, I know it’ sounds weird but many years ago I fitted rover supplied fog lights to a mates brand new rover reason being the kit was £65.00 from rover and £250 as an option. Once fitted and wired up he had to take it to the dealer for them to plug in...

As said choice is yours ultimately.
Try carwow etc to see if you can get a better deal on the facelift model.
