It seems you've done really well by steering left to avoid a heavy impact, mounting the pavement, and only glanced the drunk driver. You mean the MIL and not the spanner?
MIL is usually emission related. Get a code reader attached and report back.

Its a dc/dc software issue. Visit the dealer and get the latest software installed. You could let your dealer know how concerned this behaviour has left you and ask they raise an official complaint with Ford.

I'm not sure if the BMS needs to be paired with the battery type.

Changing the type in the BCM should change the charging strategy.
