Re: Engine fault
It’s (12mth oil change) about the oil - not the engine. Once the bottle is opened it’s exposed to the atmosphere and moisture. But you do you and I’ll keep wondering why so many have had the issue in regions where servicing is set to big intervals along with short warranty periods. Yes regions with...

Re: 1.0 ecoboost timing chain or belt check
OK so I just put the VIN number in on the Ford website to look at the service schedule and there is indeed a oil pump belt to be changed at 144K miles or 10 years!!! From what I understood it was mainly the oil pump wet belt on the previous version of this engine that would break up at around 60k m...

Re: 1.0 ecoboost timing chain or belt check
AFAIK the oil pump drive is still wet belt. It will be of an improved design of belt and tensioner compared to earlier 1.0 Ecoboost engines. Hi there, Can I ask why you think the oil pump is driven by a wet belt? Serious question - as it seems odd to me that they would move the cam to being chain d...

Re: Engine fault
Change oil every year (as should always be the case, irrespective of distance driven) and you won’t get premature belt wear. FYI in other countries oil changes are every year, and these issues don’t happen. With respect, your engine doesn't have a calendar. It doesn't know the date. It does know ho...

Re: Ford ev sales
That is all quite interesting Kev. I'm 2 years into my Puma ownership and I don't change cars regularly unless it's a dog so I'm not going to be looking at a new car for five more years. By that time we will see how much the technology and the infrastructure has improved. It's the latter that I thin...

Re: 19" Wheels
The 19’s look better but I went for the 18’s for a slightly quieter and softer ride. If you managed to swap your 19’s for 18’s would that affect the insurance and would it be classed as a modification since the car wasn’t delivered with 18’s on? Wouldn't have thought so as the 18" wheels are s...
