Re: Sync software update !!!

Bingo!!! Left the car on Wednesday with the flash drive still connected and the display still showing 'Software Updating' before switching off. Just gone to the car (4 days later) and started it up. Ran the engine for 10 minutes and no messages appeared on the display. Switched the engine off and re...

Re: Sync software update !!!

Yes there is - Birchwood, but sad to say I had an awful experience with them when I took a year old Skoda Karoq in for service (they operate a Ford and a Skoda branch at the same location in Eastbourne). However, I may have to try the Ford branch as you suggest. Thanks anyway.

Re: Sync software update !!!

Thanks for that. I had the same files as you, so that eliminates the downloaded software, hopefully! I'll leave it in the car for a couple of days and see if anything happens. When I did the last Sync 3 System update, the log file did not appear on the flash drive immediately, which surprised me. It...

Re: Sync software update !!!

I thought 2.5 hours was a bit excessive too, although one of the posts on here mentions 2.5 hours, so I thought I might be close to completing the installation. I have the same 18 files in the SyncMyRide folder; the autoinstall.lst and DOTINDX.MSA are separate files, so not sure that if one of those...

Re: Sync software update !!!

Well, I waited a few days before trying to install Maps F12 a second time. To ensure I was not the cause of any problems, I re-formatted the USB flash drive (exFAT) and re-downloaded the update from the Ford website (the files were identical to the initial download). Extracted the files to the flash...

Re: Sync software update !!!

Thanks for the clarity, but it really is confusing! Disappointed (although not surprised) to hear that the instructions on Ford's website are out of date. I'm sure many forum members will not have the info you guys have and will follow Ford's instructions to the letter. Ford's website still states t...

Re: Sync software update !!!

Installed Sync 3 update and uploaded the log file ok. Downloaded F12 Maps ok and installed today, but sequence was a little confusing even though I followed the instructions to the letter. Got the message to carry out a 'key cycle' and did this. Not 100% sure that everything happened in the correct ...

Re: Ford Performance ST lip retro fit - DONE!

I respect your views, but for me, although visibility through the rear window would normally give a better view, in rainy conditions I find the door mirrors are sufficient, especially during a downpour on motorways, when no matter how much the rear wiper clears, visibility is often still very poor. ...

Re: Ford Performance ST lip retro fit - DONE!

I fitted a splitter to my Puma because I liked the look of it and it made the car look a bit different; I did not wish to make it look like the ST. There are several reasons why I chose not to purchase the ST, the main one being that the 155PS is sufficient for my needs. Like a lot of keen motorists...

Re: Battery problem update

Rizmo - didn’t tell them! I still have, and maintain, the Rombat in case I need to swap it before a visit to my local dealer. I can’t see why they wouldn’t be ok with an AGM battery, otherwise why would the ability to change battery type be included in the software? Car is out of warranty Sep 24, so...
